Condensed Matter
These notes were compiled somewhat backwards, in that I started putting them together when I was taking a Green's Function course, and I kind of back filled the usual
Condensed Matter stuff piecemeal later on, as I needed it. These notes come from a variety of sources: classes, Mahan, random papers and books, and so they
kind of reflect that ad hoc provenance. I separated them into sections according to type of material: Metals, SemiConductors, Insulators, Quantum Liquids, and
Photon Stuff. The Metals I further subdivided into sections apropos the dominant interaction studied: free electrons, electrons + impurities, electrons + phonons, electron-electron interaction,
electron-electron interaction + magnetic impurities, and electron-electron interaction + phonons. In each section I tried to organize the material by an
analysis of the form of interaction, the excited states of the interaction, and then the equilibrium and non-equilibrium (transport mostly) properties of
that interaction. This folder is also a work in progress.
